"This project has opened up so many aspects of the history of Trengwainton over the centuries, which has been a voyage of discovery for me. I love the energy and enthusiasm of my fellow team members, sharing our findings, discovering the interconnections and building up a broader picture to achieve the aims of the project."

Research started in May 2015 with a  group of knowledgeable volunteers.  When I wrote the various bids for the project I wasn't aware that consultants had been pulling together research from different sources over the last twenty years.  On our first day at Trengwainton we were confronted with these 10 massive files compiled by Lear Associates.

We are now slowly going through the files and making sense of the information.  We will then develop our own lines of research to bring alive the history of the place, the people and their stories.  The aim is to create a historical timeline of Trengwainton, placing the garden within a wider context and interpret the findings digitally and creatively with community participation.  Watch this space!
